Introduction

Depending on which ACH processor they are using, merchants have the ability to select the file format that the ACH processor will use for a transaction. If the merchant's processor supports this feature they will have a drop down available in their virtual terminal listing the file formats that are available to them. Descriptions of these formats are available on this page.

American Express is also incorporating this security feature by placing a four-digit number on the front of their cards. The code is used for verification purposes and to prevent credit card fraud.

One of the most common problems that merchants encounter is duplicate transactions. Often they are using a shopping cart that does not prevent an end user from double clicking the final purchase button. When this happens the transaction is sent to the gateway twice and the customer is charged twice. The gateway provides two separate features for preventing duplicates. Choosing between the two features works best for you will depend on your merchant's integration and business model.

Overview

The payment form allows a merchant to send the customer to USAePay for the collection of secure payment information. This eliminates the need for individual merchants to maintain their own SSL certificates. To implement the payment form, the merchant's website needs to redirect the customer to a specially formatted URL, display a form that will post to the USA ePay site, or display a button that's connected to the form. Before creating the URL/form/button please see the sources sectio…

Introduction

Each source used by a merchant (such as their point of sale system, online shopping cart, mobile device, etc.) is assigned a unique “Key” by the gateway. This key is used to identify the source of each transaction when it is processed through the gateway. Each source and its corresponding key is stored in the Sources and Keys section of the Merchant Console.
